Service is a significant part of the undergraduate experience for many UI students: 56% of SERU respondents indicated that they participated in volunteering or community service during the current academic year.
A subset of 2151 respondents (11% of degree-seeking undergraduates) received additional questions that asked for further details about their service experiences. Recipients of these questions were a randomly selected, representative cross-section of UI undergraduates. This report provides a summary of their perceptions of civic engagement and a list of organizations where they volunteered.
