Alliant Energy/Erroll B. Davis, Jr. Achievement Award

  • This award recognizes academic achievement in business or engineering, leadership in campus and community organizations, and potential for future career success by underrepresented minority students in the state of Iowa.

Beckman Scholars Program

  • The purpose of the Beckman Scholars Program is to help stimulate, encourage and support research activities by exceptionally talented, full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing their studies at accredited four-year colleges and universities located in the United States of America. These research activities shall be centered in either chemistry, biochemistry, the biological and medical sciences or some combination of these subjects

Callen and Sanxay Prizes for Graduate School Funding

  • The Callen Award is for an outstanding graduating senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. 

  • The Sanxay Prize is awarded annually to a University of Iowa liberal arts senior from Iowa who shows the highest promise of achievement in graduate work. 

Carver Scholarship Program

  • The program centers on providing substantial scholarships to students who struggle to overcome significant social and economic obstacles in the pursuit of their education or who may be living in circumstances that may not normally be taken into account by other financial aid programs.

Carver College of Medicine Programs

  • Variety of programs under the purview of the Carver College of Medicine

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 

  • The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences currently supports 50 different scholarships through the College's annual scholarship competition. 

Drs. Michael and Darlene McNulty Sub-Saharan Africa Research Award

  • $1,000 grant to a University of Iowa undergraduate senior or graduate student engaging in research or training in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dewey Stuit Fund in the Liberal Arts and Sciences

  • Grants from the Dewey Stuit Fund may support: undergraduate student travel to disciplinary conferences, workshops, archives, or other sites, either to present their work or to advance their research or creative projects and/or undergraduate research with a faculty mentor (e.g., software, equipment, participant fees, etc.)

Ferentz Undergraduate Fellowships for Research

  • The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will award Ferentz Undergraduate Fellowships to juniors and seniors participating in or completing a research project, an honors thesis, or a BFA project. 

Global Health Studies Conference Travel Awards

  • The Global Health Studies Program (GHSP) invites applications from undergraduate and graduate students for a $500 award to attend a U.S. or foreign global health conference or meeting during calendar year 2014.

Guy D. and Betty J. Williams Scholarship

  • The Guy D and Betty J Williams Honors Scholarship was established to reward and motivate undergraduate physics students to apply the knowledge and skills gleaned from their education in the Liberal Arts and Sciences to environmental dilemmas. 

  • Must be a current member of the University Honors Program

Iowa Biosciences Academy

  • The mission of this program is to identify academically talented undergraduate underrepresented students with aspirations for a research career and provide them with first-rate training that will facilitate their entry into Ph.D. programs in the biomedical, behavioral, and biophysical sciences.

Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates - Research Fellows Program

  • This program allows students to work with a University of Iowa faculty mentor on a specific project during the academic year or summer.  Scholarships go directly to students.  

Iowa City Noon Rotary Club International Scholarship

  • It is the purpose of these scholarships to contribute to international understanding through study and travel abroad by outstanding students.

Iowa N.E.W. Leadership – Women’s Leadership Program

  • An intensive 5-day residential institute designed to empower women across the political spectrum and increase the participation of underrepresented groups in all sectors of public leadership.

Laster Award for Interdisciplinary Studies

  • Howard Laster Award for Interdisciplinary Study which is supported by the Harold Laster Memorial Fund and offers financial support to full-time Honors students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, who are engaged in academic inquiries which cross or combine disciplines of study. 

  • Must be a current member of the University of Iowa Honors Program

Latham Science Engagement Initiative and Fellowship Program

  • The Latham Science Engagement Initiative is an opportunity to engage highly talented undergraduate students across scientific disciplines to work collaboratively towards solutions to societal problems.  
  • Fellows enroll in coursework and receive a scholarship.

Minority Health and Health Disparities International Research and Training (MHIRT) Program Internship

  • Eight undergraduate awards and two graduate/professional awards are available to enable minority students and students from medically-underserved rural or urban areas to gain international research experience in a health-related field. 

Stanley Undergraduate Awards for International Research

  • Given annually to outstanding University of Iowa undergraduates for the pursuit of learning activities in international studies that are not available on the UI campus. The competition is open to all UI students; students need not be U.S. citizens to be eligible.

University of Iowa Honors Program Scholarship Competition 

  • All Honors students are eligible and encouraged to participate in our annual scholarship competition once they have been a member of the University of Iowa community for one full semester
