​Kylene Spanbauer

Kylene Spanbauer​Kylene Spanbauer is in her first season as the Hawkeye Marching Band Golden Girl. A native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Kylene started twirling when she was just 3 years old. Kylene began competing at the age of 8, with the nationally-ranked Touch of Silver Twirling Corps. Competing in Switzerland in 2012 and Italy in 2015 with Team USA, Kylene won four gold medals in team events. 

Becoming an individual competitor at the age of 9, Kylene has won many National, Regional and State titles. She is the current Miss Majorette of Wisconsin, All-North Regional Solo and 2-Baton Champion and Wisconsin State Solo and Strut Champion. At the 2016 NBTA Nationals, Kylene placed 4th Runner Up to Miss Majorette of America. 

As a contestant in the MAO Teen program for the first time in 2016, Kylene won the title of Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen 2016. At the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition held in Orlando, Kylene was the Preliminary Talent Winner and placed in the Top 8 out of the 51 contestants. 

Kylene is a recent graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac. She plans to major in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Iowa, and aspires to become a Child Life Specialist. 

Becoming the Golden Girl has been Kylene’s highest goal for many years since her first Hawkeye game day experience in Kinnick Stadium. She is excited to be taking the field with the Hawkeye Marching Band this coming fall.
