From Downing A. Thomas, Associate Provost and Dean of International Programs

Faculty and Staff Colleagues:

In early 2012, the three Regents universities adopted an International Travel Health Insurance and Emergency Services Program. The program is free for faculty and staff who are traveling internationally on University business.

We are pleased to say that the response of the University community to this program has been very positive. To ensure that the program is as effective as possible, we ask that you take the following steps:

  • register prior to travel through the University's ProTrav system; once your trip is approved through workflow, you will be automatically enrolled.
  • list ALL destinations for your trip in ProTrav (not merely the first destination or arrival airport)
  • modify your trip in ProTrav, should your travel plans change.

Highlights of program coverage and services, which are provided by Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI), can be found at this site: http://hr.uiowa.edu/files/hr.uiowa.edu/files/international_travel_ins_manual.pdf.
