Overview

In January 2017, the Academic Organizational Structure 2020 Task Force was charged with conducting a study of the University of Iowa's academic organizational structure, with the goal of helping the UI become a more forward-looking, nimble university that focuses our limited resources in support of academic excellence.

Phase I of the initiative--in which the Task Force gathered information about current academic structures and collected input regarding future possibilities--took place during spring and summer 2017.  Phase II will  continue through the end of the calendar year. The steering committee will combine campus input with the Phase I report to generate a second report for the Offices of the President and Provost early in the spring semester.
